OVERVIEW
The course will provide a comprehensive overview of the key concepts and principles of Free Market Environmentalism (FME), a market-based approach to environmental protection and conservation.
You will gain a better understanding of the mechanics that guide humanity’s impact on the environment and what can be done to address it. The course will teach you how the various actors interact with each other in this sphere as well as what role we have to play in it as individuals. As you progress through the course you will become more proficient at the topic and learn how to engage with your community in meaningful environmental work and activism. You will also learn how to evaluate various environmental policy and infrastructure proposals to gauge if they are beneficial for your particular area and the planet.
By the end of the course, participants will have a clear understanding of free-market environmentalism and the tools to advocate for it in their communities.
The course is divided into two parts. Part 1 (4.7.1) deals with the theoretical framework for FME, it is designed to equip participants with the concepts, language, and ideas that comprise FME. Part 2 (4.7.2) deals with proactive approaches, campaigns, and activism related to FME.
OUTCOMES
By the end of this training, you will:
- Recall environmentalism’s core concepts and importance and its relevance to free-market principles.
- Apply critical thinking skills to evaluate policies and proposals, ensuring they align with the needs of your community/country and effectively address environmental concerns.
- Analyze various activities that individuals, student leaders, and policy advocates can engage in to promote free-market environmentalism effectively.
- Evaluate and synthesize information to become a well-informed advocate for Free Market Environmentalism, understanding its potential benefits and the necessary policy changes to achieve its goals.
- Acquire practical strategies and approaches to advocate for Free Market Environmentalism with an in-depth understanding of its potential benefits and the policy changes required for its implementation.
